Our Story
It Started with Ace

My wife wrote this, and I want to share her words exactly as she said them:
“Ace was a Yorkiepoo who lived 17 beautiful years. He was healthy for most of his life, though his final year was his hardest. But Ace was never ‘just a pet.’ He was my everything.
For 17 years, he was there through every season of life — happy moments, difficult ones, illness, healing, and everything in between. He was my constant, my comfort, and my anchor. No matter what was happening, Ace was there.
As he aged, his care became more involved. He faced serious health challenges, including cancer and vision issues, and it required intentional, daily attention. It wasn’t easy, but we did everything we could for him, every step of the way. His care was an act of love, and he was never alone.
Losing Ace was devastating. Even now, it still hurts. His life — and the love we shared — changed us forever. This journey, and the care he needed in his final chapter, is what planted the seed for everything that followed.”
The seed that became NurturedPet
I watched my wife go through that. I was right there with her — we managed Ace’s care together as a team. Between Ace in his final year and Queen, our poodle who has heart disease, we’ve managed 10+ medications at different periods. Pill pockets, liquid gabapentin squirted by mouth because he refused tablets, treats hiding pills inside, and the early morning routines that become second nature when you love an animal this much.
Through all of it, we tried every app we could find to help us stay organized. None of them understood what we were actually going through. They tracked pills. They didn’t support the people giving them.
That’s what drove me to build NurturedPet.
What I wished existed
We didn’t need a better checklist. We needed something that understood the reality: that sometimes your dog decides today is the day she will not, under any circumstances, eat that pill pocket. That sometimes you’re running late and the guilt you feel is heavier than it should be. That caring for a sick pet is exhausting, invisible work — and nobody gives you credit for the early morning alarms and the trips to the specialty pharmacy and the constant low hum of worry.
We needed something that felt like a companion, not a compliance tracker.
So I built one.
The question behind every decision
Every feature in NurturedPet is filtered through one question: “Will this make the pet parent feel supported or judged?”
If the answer is “judged,” it doesn’t belong in the app.
That philosophy shows up everywhere. In the language we chose — gentle and encouraging, never clinical. In the way schedules adapt when life gets chaotic instead of punishing you for it. In the AI companion that speaks first and asks how your pet is doing before you have to figure out what to ask. In the way the app celebrates your consistency instead of highlighting your gaps.
I built NurturedPet because Ace deserved the best care we could give him, and we needed support to do it. Queen still needs that care today. And there are thousands of pet parents right now — managing medications, tracking symptoms, driving to vet appointments — doing this same invisible work with the same relentless love.
They shouldn’t have to do it alone.
For Ace. For Queen. For every pet parent doing their best.
You are enough. 💜
You don’t have to do this alone.
Care Circle is where people caring for a sick pet talk to each other — about the 4am alarms, the appointments, the days it feels like too much. It’s free, and it stays free.

NurturedPet is the app behind it. Medication schedules, symptom tracking, and a companion that asks how you’re doing, not just how they are.
